2026 WA Project Management Awards
The Project Management Institute Western Australia Chapter is proud to celebrate a significant milestone with its 25th Anniversary Celebration and Awards Ceremony, an evening recognising excellence, innovation, leadership, and impact across the Western Australian project management community.
This special event will bring together project professionals, industry leaders, academics, sponsors, volunteers, and emerging talent to reflect on 25 years of contribution to the profession while celebrating the achievements shaping the future of project delivery in Western Australia.
The PMI WA Awards Program recognises outstanding performance in project delivery and professional practice across a diverse range of industries and sectors. The awards showcase projects and professionals delivering measurable economic, social, environmental, and community outcomes while highlighting innovation, leadership, sustainability, and excellence in governance and delivery.
Award categories to be presented on the evening include:
- Public Sector of the Year - recognises the success of a project and the involved project team, for the superior performance and execution of exceptional project management of all project types in the public sector.
- Construction & Infrastructure Project of the Year - recognises the success of a project and the involved project team, for the superior performance and execution of exceptional project management in delivering complex built environment outcomes.
- Social Impact Project of the Year - recognises a project or initiative that addresses a defined social need by improving quality of life, equity, or community well-being through effective project delivery and measurable, positive outcomes.
- Engineering & Technology Project of the Year - recognises the success of a project and the involved project team, for the superior performance and execution of innovative and exceptional project management delivering measurable business or societal impact
- Sustainability Project of the Year - presented to an organisation or project that exemplifies the application of project sustainability management to maximise project success. This recognition acknowledges an organisation's sustainability strategy and its alignment with the PMI Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct (Responsibility, Respect, Honesty and Fairness) - the ideals we aspire to.
- Emerging Project Professional of the Year - recognises rising talent – those individuals who, despite being in the early stages of their project management careers, are demonstrating good project practices and that they can make a difference to the project management profession and the companies, organisations and clients for whom they work.
- Project Professional of the Year - recognises an individual project professional who has demonstrated exceptional leadership, professionalism, and contribution to the success of projects and teams, with measurable outcomes and evidence of strong project management practice.
- Project Management Office (PMO) of the Year - recognises a Project, Program or Portfolio Management Office (PMO/EPMO/VMO) that has successfully developed and matured the organisation’s project, program, or portfolio management capability of the organisation’s projects/programs/portfolios.
- Academic Achievement in Project Management - recognises an individual or team that has advanced the concepts, knowledge, and/or practices of project-based management through research that significantly advances the profession or aspects thereof.
- Volunteer of the Year (PMI WA) – celebrating the dedication and impact of volunteers supporting the PMI WA community
- Judges’ Special Recognition Award – presented at the judges’ discretion for outstanding achievements beyond standard award categories
